TOCH korng toch
TOCH korng toch
The korng toch is a small gong circle, closely resembling its larger
relative, the kong thom. This instrument only appears in large ensembles and
plays a role similar to that of roneat ek, the small xylophone.
The kong thom plays a melodic line in the Cambodian pinpeat ensemble almost
identical to that of the roneat thung (large xylophone). The kong thom dwells
more steadily on the pulse without pulling or delaying the beat (melody). The
player uses soft mallets for indoor performance, hard ones for outdoors.
The gong circle-maker creates sixteen bossed gongs made of copper with bronze
admixture. He suspends them on rattan frames in a circle around the player. He
tunes the individual gongs by dripping into the upturned boss a mixture of
mud-lead, rice husks, and beeswax.
The kong thom's smaller cousin is called kong toch.
Toch Ernst Toch
Ernst Toch (pronounced [toʜ]) (7 December 1887 - 1 October 1964) was a
composer of classical music and film scores.
Toch was born in Vienna. He sought to introduce new ideas and approaches to
music. He studied philosophy at the university of Vienna and medicine at
Heidelberg. His main instrument was the piano, and he was a pianist of concert
stature. Much of his creative output aimed toward the piano. He was a
self-taught composer, and in America he came to instruct new generations of
composers. His first compositions date from circa 1900 and were pastiche pieces
in the style of Mozart (quartets, 1905 album verses for piano). His first
quartet was performed in Leipzig in 1908, and his sixth (Opus 12, 1905) in the
year 1909. In 1909, his chamber symphony in F major (written 1906) won the
Frankfurt/Main Mozart prize. From this time onwards Toch dedicated himself to
being a full-time composer. He won the Mendelssohn prize for composition in
1910. In 1913 he was appointed lecturer of both piano and composition at the
College of Music in Mannheim. After winning a further five major prizes for his
works, Toch served 4 years in the army on the Italian Front. In 1916 he married
Lilly Zwack, the daughter of a banker. After World War I had ended, he returned
to Manheim to compose, devoping a new style of polyphony.
This period lasted from 1934 to 1958. His works often exhibit a humorous aspect
(Bunte Suite (1929)). In 1930 he invented "Gesprochene Musik," the idiom of the
"spoken chorus"; his most performed work is the Geographical Fugue or Fuge aus
der Geographie, though he regarded it as an unimportant diversion. He wrote
music for films, symphonies, chamber music, chamber operas. He also wrote books
dealing with musical theory: Melodielehre (1923) and "The Shaping Forces in
Music" (1948).
Toch was considered one of the great avant-garde composers in the pre-Nazi era,
and, like many other artists and musicians, went into exile when Hitler came to
power.
Toch won the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 1956 for his Third Symphony (premiered
by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra on December 2, 1955). He died in Los
Angeles and was interred in the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los
Angeles. He is the grandfather of author Lawrence Weschler.

Toc H
Toc H is a Christian service club that is committed to building a fairer society
by working with communities to promote friendship and service, confront
prejudice and practise reconciliation. Most of its work involves the betterment
of children. It is based in the United Kingdom and has branches throughout much
of the Commonwealth of Nations and Europe.
Toc H has England and Wales Charity Number 211042.
History and Evolution
Toc H first came into existence in 1915 during the First World War. Young Army
Chaplain Rev. 'Tubby' Clayton founded a rest house in a house in the Belgian
town of Poperinge, a few miles behind the front-line trenches. The house was
called Talbot House (whose initials, in the army phonetic alphabet of the day,
give Toc H its distinctive name) in memory of Lieutenant Gilbert W. L. Talbot, a
friend of Clayton. Unlike many other contemporary establishments, it was open to
all ranks. Furthermore, entrance was only allowed if one abandoned rank, making
all men inside equals.
Each Branch or unit of Toc H may be issued with a lamp which can be used for the
traditional 'ceremony of light' at meetings. The small wick gives off a dim, but
distinctive, light. Thus, Toc H gave its name to the (now dated) British
colloquialism "as dim as a Toc H lamp", meaning unintelligent.
After the War the men who survived returned to civilian life. They decided to
try to recreate the Talbot House experience in peacetime. They started creating
opportunities for other people to have that same experience, whether the
divisions were of rank, class or any other. To begin with, they set up
residential houses, called Marks, like Talbot House. Later, they started forming
local branches, which met weekly. Very soon women were fully involved too. The
organisation was incorporated by Royal Charter in 1922.
As well as within the United Kingdom, Toc H has branches in Australia,
Gibraltar, India, New Zealand, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Bulgaria, France, and
Germany. The Winant-Clayton exchange programme links Toc H with North America.
This international aspect of Toc H work enriches and strengthens the Toc H
profile whilst reinforcing the Toc H approach.
Toc H also engages numerous people in volunteer roles doing a wide variety of
worthwhile tasks.
The headquarters of Toc H are in Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom.
In 2007 Toc H sold its box in the Grand Tier at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
This was one of its greatest capital assets. School
Toch Tocharians
The Tocharians were the Tocharian-speaking inhabitants of the Tarim basin,
making them the easternmost speakers of an Indo-European language in antiquity.
The Tarim mummies suggest that precursors of these easternmost speakers of an
Indo-European language may have lived in the region of the Tarim Basin from
around 1800 BC until finally they were assimilated by Uyghur Turks in the 9th
century AD. more Tocharians

RuneScape is set in a medieval fantasy world, similar to "Guild Wars" or
"EverQuest", where players control character representations of themselves. As
with most massive multiplayer online roleplaying games (MMORPG), there is no
overall objective or end to the game. Players explore, form alliances, perform

the top massive online role playing games. It is a unique game. But, with a

cheats....autos or bots that will help them achieve success in their beloved

RuneScape is a virtual world which
is divided into two part: Members Areas and Non-Members areas. People who pay to
play (p2p), receive access to the special areas. They also have access to the
free areas. The members' places are much larger, offer "better" items for the
gameplay of rs2, and much, much more. The character that you create when you
first start playing runescape, moves around the game on foot; either by running,
or walking. Players are challenged to their utmost skills by fighting new
monsters, completing difficult quests, and manipulating marketing. As Runescape
2 is an RPG (Role playing game), there is no set path a person must take to play
rs. They can choose what to do, and when, whether it be training their
money-making skills, or fighting another player. Players usually interact with
each other by chatting through public chat, or private chat.Internet

With the rising popularity of
commercial MMORPG games came the desire from ardent players of these games to
run their own servers beside the ones run by the game's creator. Since the
original server software is not usually available, the behavior of the server
has to be re-engineered. This can be done by analyzing the data stream with the
original server, or by disassembling and analyzing the client which is
available.
Ultima Online was one of the first
large MMORPGs. Due to its openness in implementation, server emulators arose
very quickly, even during the beta stage of development. The destination to
which the client connects was changeable by simply editing a text file. In beta
stage the client-server data stream was not encrypted yet. The term server
emulator became known through Ultima Online server reimplementation such as UOX,
which was the pioneer. Many forks and reimplementations followed UOX, because
its source code was released under the GNU General Public License relatively
early. RunUO is today the most widely used UO-server emulator. After RuneScape
implemented anti-cheating measures, many gamers left and started their own
private servers. The best place to discuss the private server is at
Trik- The Master of Private Server.
